New Brunswick AIP: 203 Candidates Selected for Processing
· Golden Visa Newsroom · 3 min read

New selection round
The Government of New Brunswick selected 203 workers to progress through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) in draws held on October 2, October 9 and October 29, 2026. According to Canvas Immigration, the selections covered workers in sectors including construction, health care and manufacturing whose endorsement applications were chosen for processing.
The three draws used application cut-off dates of October 1, October 9 and October 28, 2026, each at 11:59 p.m (CIC News). AST. Applicants needed a job offer from an employer with provincial designation to qualify for consideration under the AIP.
New Brunswick distinguishes its AIP draws from the province’s nominee-program draws, which issue invitations to apply. The AIP figures instead identify submitted applications selected to proceed to processing. ANAS CANADA reported that selections and invitations are based on provincial labour market needs, available allocation and other priorities determined by the Government of New Brunswick.
The numbers
The latest three draws added 203 candidates to the applications selected for AIP processing in New Brunswick. The province said this brought the cumulative total to 898 candidates across nine announced selection rounds.
| Figure | Value |
|---|---|
| Applications selected in October 2, 9 and 29 draws | 203 |
| Total selected across nine announced rounds | 898 |
| Number of announced selection rounds | 9 |
| September 25 and October 2 selection | 63 |
| September 10 selection | 60 |
| August 10 and August 20 selection | 68 |
| June 3 selection | 97 |
The figures do not mean that all 898 applicants have received AIP endorsements. They identify applications selected to move forward for processing. An approved application can lead to an endorsement certificate, which allows the candidate to apply for permanent residence at the federal level.
Processing route
An AIP endorsement also opens the route to a two-year, employer-specific work permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Workers who apply for this permit before their current permit expires may continue working on maintained status, subject to the conditions of their expired permit, provided they remain in Canada until a decision is made on the AIP work-permit application.
The October selection covered construction; education, social and community services; health care; manufacturing; other trades; professional and IT; sales and services; and transportation.
In an October 14 update, New Brunswick said AIP endorsement applications could be submitted for all eligible occupations except restaurant and food service managers, identified by code 60030. Applications involving job offers for foreign nationals residing outside Canada remained limited to government-led recruitment initiatives in health care, education and construction.
What happens next
For candidates in the October selection, the next stage is endorsement application processing. Successful processing can result in an endorsement certificate and then a federal permanent-residence application. An AIP endorsement can also lead to the two-year, employer-specific work permit described above.
Separately, the Canada approved nearly all urgent citizenship files after Bill C-3 report covers a different citizenship-processing development, while What Does Latvia’s Residence-Permit Investigation Mean for Applicants? addresses another residence-permit issue.
ANAS CANADA reported detecting the latest provincial update on October 30, 2026, following the draws held on October 2, 9 and 29.
